Residents can buy plots across the emirates
The Dubai government passed a decree this week allowing expatriates to purchase freehold plots in Dubai South, formerly called Dubai World Central. This will open up land parcels to private developers and investors who can capitalize on the anticipated development boom in the run-up to Expo 2020.
The main areas in Dubai, where freehold plots are available for sale today, are Dubai South, Business Bay and Pearl Jumeirah and in secondary locations such as Al Furjan, Dubai Sports City and Jumeirah Village South. This excludes older areas such as Bur Dubai, Karama and Qusais.
